The Lost Isle is one of the most enigmatic secret areas in Octopath Traveler II, hidden deep within the waters of Solistia. Exploring this distant location requires careful preparation and navigating dangerous open-sea encounters. Finding the isle yields powerful rewards that significantly expand your team's tactical options during late-game battles.

How to Reach The Lost Isle

To travel to The Lost Isle, players must first acquire their own vessel by completing Partitio's quest in Tropu'hopu. After obtaining the ship for 100,000 leaves, sail out into the Sundering Sea toward the eastern waters. You must defeat a formidable ocean boss guarding the massive whirlpool to gain passage to the southeastern realm.

Once the whirlpool is cleared, set a course further east until a distant landmass featuring an elaborate maze appears. Disembarking on this island brings your party directly onto The Lost Isle. Keep in mind that enemies in this area are around Level 45, so enter well-prepared for combat.

Solving the Maze Riddle

Upon arriving at The Lost Isle, players encounter a large stone labyrinth that appears to be the main path forward. However, entering the maze itself is a distraction meant to mislead careless travelers. A stone signpost located near the entrance hints at finding the true path through observation.

Instead of venturing into the labyrinth, walk to the left edge of the stone platform near the entrance. You will discover an invisible walkway stretching across the water toward the western side of the island. Following this hidden path brings you directly to an isolated tower overlooking the sea.

Unlocking the Arcanist Advanced Job

At the top of the secret tower stands the Arcanist Descendant, an NPC who imparts ancient magic. Interacting with this mysterious figure instantly unlocks the Arcanist advanced job for your entire party. This specialized class focuses on potent light and dark spells alongside unique party-wide support capabilities.

Unlike standard jobs, unlocking new Arcanist abilities requires investing substantial amounts of JP rather than completing further quests. Skills like Seal of Diffusion allow self-buffs to affect all party members, making it an invaluable asset for tough endgame bosses. Completing this hidden quest ensures your team is ready for Solistia's greatest challenges.
